Things To Know About The Game
•East Carolina enters Wednesday night's game on the heels of an 83-73 loss at UCF on Saturday. The Pirates have dropped three of four since opening league play 3-2.
•UAB has won each of its last two games and three of its last four. The Blazers are coming off a 75-61 victory over Marshall at home Saturday.
•ECU is one game up on UAB in the C-USA standings. The Pirates are tied with Tulane for sixth place at 4-5, while the Blazers are in a three-way tie for third at 3-6.
•The two teams combined for 176 points (ECU 91, UAB 85) in their previous meeting this season. It was the highest scoring game in the league this year.
•ECU and UAB each rank among the nation's top 10 in assists per game. The Pirates are eighth with 17.1 and the Blazers are 10th with 16.7.
•East Carolina has won three of the last four games in the series, twice in Birmingham and once in El Paso, Texas. The Pirates are winless inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum against the Blazers (0-6) since the series began in 2002.
•East Carolina is 10-3 at home this season and UAB is 2-8 on the road. The Pirates will be looking to snap a two-game losing streak at home after dropping their last two games to UTEP and Memphis.
•Both teams ranks in the bottom tier of C-USA in scoring defense. ECU is allowing 71.1 points per game and the Blazers are surrendering a league-worst 72.5 points per game.

Notes, Streaks And Trends
•After scoring over 80 points in three of its first six Conference USA games, the Pirates have been held under 80 in four straight games. ECU has topped 80 points in 10 games this season (7-3).
•East Carolina broke a string of three straight games shooting under 30 percent behind the arc by connecting on 37.0 percent (10-27) of its 3s against UCF.
•The Pirates have won 10 of 11 games when leading at halftime this season. Their only loss was a one-point setback against UTEP.
•ECU has committed more turnovers than its opponents five times during conference play.
•East Carolina has mad 10 3-pointers in a game six times this season and has compiled a 4-2 mark in those games. It has also accumulated a 7-4 record when making seven or more.
•After yielding 50 percent shooting against UCF and Houston, the Pirates have held each of their last six opponents under the mark.
•Senior Maurice Kemp has scored over 20 points in each of the last two games (33 at Rice, 24 at UCF). He has netted double figures in 15 straight games and currently leads C-USA in scoring (18.1 ppg).
•Junior transfer Ty Armstrong has scored double figures in five straight games, averaging 16.8 points per game. Armstrong has played over 20 minutes in all nine conference games after eclipsing the 20-minute mark just once in non-conference play.
•Senior Miguel Paul has distributed more assists than he's committed turnovers in five straight games (39:18). He is averaging a conference-best 7.8 assists per game in league play.

Catch Twenty-2
•Senior Maurice Kemp leads Conference USA in scoring with 18.1 ppg. Kemp has scored double figures in 20 games this season and topped 20 points, eight times.
•East Carolina is 6-2 this season when Kemp drops in 20 or more points. The two losses were on the road at Massachusetts and UCF.
•Three of Kemp's eight 20-point games came on the road (Massachusetts, Rice and UCF).
•Kemp has gone for 30 points in a game twice this season, each time in Conference USA play (30 vs. Houston, 33 at Rice). His 33 points against Rice matched an ECU record for most points in a C-USA game.
•Kemp is one of two players in school history to score 30 points in multiple C-USA games, but the first to do it in the same season. Darrell Jenkins had 31 against Houston in 2007 and 30 versus Tulane in 2008.

•Senior Miguel Paul handed out his 300th career assist on Feb. 9 against UCF, becoming the seventh player in school history to reach the milestone.
•Paul has amassed 307 assists in 51 games played during his ECU career. He is 40 assists shy of surpassing Darrell Jenkins for most assists during a two-year career.
•Paul enters Wednesday's game 19 helpers shy of sixth-place, currently occupied by Lester Lyons, on the school's all-time list.
•He currently has the highest career assist average in school history with 6.02.
