Auburn Jumps To 3, Pirates Pick Up 7 Votes In Top 25 Poll

NEW YORK (AP) -- Auburn has jumped two spots to No. 3 behind top-ranked Oregon and Boise State in The Associated Press college football poll.

The Tigers have their highest ranking since they were No. 2 in 2006 after beating LSU 24-17 on Saturday in a matchup of the Southeastern Conference's last unbeaten teams.

TCU is No. 4, Michigan State is fifth and Alabama is No. 6.

No. 7 Missouri made the largest jump in the poll, moving 11 spots after beating previously undefeated Oklahoma 36-27. The Sooners dropped eight spots to No. 11.

Missouri was last ranked this highly in 2007, when the Tigers reached No. 1 and finished the season No. 4.

No. 25 Baylor (6-2) is ranked for the first time since Sept. 5, 1993, when the Bears were No. 24 for a week.

East Carolina picked up 6 more votes for a total of 7 in this week's poll. The Pirates improved to 5-2 after beating Marshall 37-10.

TruthBTold must be one of those jealous State fans who still can't get over the fact that ECU defeated N. C. STATE, who is NOT in C-USA. Also, there are no other conference USA teams with as many votes as ECU so there you have it. TruthBTold has a complete lack of knowledge of college football. ECU has more votes than everyone else in this state, and the margin will only increase.

How does EZU get votes whenever they have no quality wins? Beating CUSA teams is what the rest of college football does regularly.

Sam: It's even funnier that Penn State is no where to be seen in the polls much less recieving votes! Go Pirates!

It's funny how those 7 meaningless votes you are talking about are greater than what N.C. State or UNC has.

Only ECU fans would be happy getting 7 meaningless votes.

All I'm going to say is just keep playing the good ball you guys have played football pirates. Don't get too overconfident. Stay humble and keep being hungry for another win. 1-0 this week guys! 1-0! Beat the knights. Go Pirates! TruthBTold, this is someone living in the Outer Banks who has season tickets, but Greenville is one of the top places in NC during football season (not just during football games) just like the OBX is year round, especially during the summer.

ECU packs their stadium because Greenville is so dull and boring on weekends, there is nothing better for these people to do.
