Pirate Stadium Construction Update

The Pirate Football Stadium has been under construction for months, so now that we're inching closer to game time in September we wanted to check in on renovations.

It's a big project for Dowdy Ficklen Stadium, worth 20 Million dollars in construction. We're talking seven thousand new seats, which pushes capacity to 50-thousand.

More than 10 thousand new chair backs for both sides of the stadium. Plus a scoreboard that's 2 to 3 times larger than then previous one and will be HD.

Construction is set to be complete August 15th.

The Pirates first kick-off is against Tulsa a few weeks later on September 5th.

ECU Athletics says construction is on time and on budget.

DEADFISH DROP THE FREAKIN STUFF ABOUT WILLIAMSTON ALREADY. Get over it. Nobody is impressed with you and your cheating program. Nobody I don't live there no more and never plan to again. To Big Orange Army, your Vols are a fantastic and respectable program as well, with a great history. I remember that game as well. I beleive it was the same year ECU beat Stanford in that Liberty Bowl. I remember when the Vols had us beat in that super regional in Kinston back in 2001, and you had some great fans. You all are much more likable and respectable than Kentucky or Arkansas by a long shot. They had some awful fans. Thanks Big Orange Army, and good luck to your Vols as well.

Sam: Your Pirates can play some football. I remember watching ECU and UT play 15 yrs ago at Neland Stadium. The final score did not reflect the great game ECU played. UT did not pull off the win until late in the 4th. ECU has played well against the SEC. Good luck this season.

To Big Orange Army, I imagine you are. If I was a UT fan, I would be as well. UT is glad whereas Lane is mad, sad, or both. He had it set for himself in Knoxville until he made that boneheaded decision to go out to L.A. and run that risk of serious trouble. He is one of the cockiest coaches I have ever heard of.

Sam: We at UT are glad the Laney Boy left. UT does not need or want the kind of negative publicity that Laney Boy brings to the table.

SoCal will be down as they can't even participate in a bowl. That's going to keep what would have been SoCal recruits from going there and going to places like Cal, UCLA, Oregon, Texas, Florida, Notre Dame, and other great college football programs. It looks like Laney Boy made a big mistake of ever leaving good ole Rockytop.

deadfish, Kentucky was 7-6 that year, not 6-7. you have to be at least 6-6 or a better win-loss record to even be bowl elgible.

Bud: Did you look-up homework/CFB? USC "on the decline", that's an embarrassing comment. ESPN bashes USC ALL the time and they haven't made that comment. If USC's "decline" is so bad WHY don't you beg your great AD Mr. Holland to arrange a game VS USC? Hint: ECU will be lucky to get three points. Bud, Sir, I am NOT ignoring losing to Wash nor the sanctions(Mr. Barry). Yes, ECU beat VT and WVU>funk. BTW that reminds me Billy Weaver talking big: "we the #14 team in the nation">did NOT finish that season in the top 30>DUH? USC has lost ONLY one bowl in the last ten years: to UT-41-38 for the NC>bad play decision/call from Pete Carroll. Furthermore USC will have a better record and recruiting classes than your beloved PartyU in the next four years. Did you read about the NCAA investigating Florida and UNC? How about a bunch of ND players arrested for underage drinking? Bud you have a computer use it to educate yourself about CFB. It will prevent your embarrassing comments. Rest my case

Since when does academics come into play at USC? If Henderson was really that dumb USC would never have tried to get him because "he doesn't meet the standards," according to you. Yet he DID SIGN with USC and only left AFTER USC was sanctioned, so what does that say? USC can go 13-0 and beat teams 100-0 for all I care, it doesn't mean a thing! But I do agree with you, you only know a little bit about college football. Seems like you want to ignore the significance of losing to Washington, a team that was 0-12 the previous year, but you think ECU stinks for losing to Kentucky on an extremely unlucky play. Did you forget that we beat Boise State? How are they doing again? You can't ignore it deadfish, "your school," which you never attended, is on the decline, and ECU is on the rise, as exhibited by this stadium expansion and 2 conference titles, a first for the C-USA. Belittle the C-USA, ECU can only play to the level of competition, yet still beat VT and WVU. It's not BCS.

Bud: Homework: With ALL due respect I hope you know the definition. Once more OL Seantrel Henderson bought a lot of time before he signed his LOI with USC. Then bought more time to get his suspect academics in line and then signs with Miami. He could have gone to Ohio State. His academic fuel is not good enough to go there, either. BTW USC is rated #25 academically in the nation. A 6-7 Kentucky beat your PartyU in the Liberty Bowl. USC will have a winning record regardless of the sanctions, PartyU will NOT, five wins if they are lucky... Please list ALL the players involved in the mass exodus. You are talking to me NOT Sam the accountant. I know a little bit about CFB, thank you.
