Celebrity Sportscasters Week A Big Hit

7th round NFL draft pick Matt Dodge rounded out a very successful week of celebrity sportscasters at WITN.

Dodge, a former ECU punter, delivered the Friday sports like an old pro and he re-introduced eastern North Carolina to a wonderful woman who spent a big part of her life supporting the Kinston Indians and many professional baseball players.

Previous Story:

ECU cheerleading coach Susie Glynn was Wednesday's celebrity sportscaster and the spunky blonde was a natural on the anchor desk.

Susie was surprised when she walked into the WITN studio to find her own personal cheering squad. Before her debut on the desk, Susie ran through a banner made by supporters which included her husband Kevin and daughter Kaitlyn. Bailey Glynn was unable to watch mom in person as she had... what else... cheer practice.

Susie read through a sportscast that included ECU baseball, ECU softball and ECU cheerleading tryouts with ease. After a short commercial break she introduced Marvin Daugherty at the weather wall for a final look at the forecast.

Previous Story:

Former ECU defensive end and current Green Bay Packer C.J. Wilson anchored the sports segment on Tuesday during WITN's Celebrity Sportscaster Week.

Wilson is used to sacking opposing quarterbacks on the football field but told us his heart was racing when the cameras came on during his live sportscast at 6pm.

The former Conference USA defensive player of the year handled the duties like a real pro. See the entire sportscast right here on witn.com.

Next up is ECU cheerleading coach Susie Glynn. We hope to have a few special guests in the studio as well. Stay tuned.

Previous Story:

ECU head football coach Ruffin McNeill was Monday's WITN celebrity sportscaster.

In his sportscasting debut coach McNeill talked about his inaugural golf tournament to be played next month in Greenville, the ECU softball team having claimed a top seed for the C-USA Tournament and the Kinston Indians recent road swing.

following his sportscast McNeill was all smiles and commented on how the job is a lot harder than it looks.

Of course... he made it look easy. click on the video link to see for yourself.

Here's a look at the schedule of guests for the rest of the week:

Thursday: Heather Macy, ECU Women's Basketball Coach
Friday: Matt Dodge, Former Pirate, Drafted By New York Giants
