Giants Take ECU's Linval Joseph In 2nd Round Of NFL Draft

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) -- The New York Giants are continuing to shore up their defensive line, selecting East Carolina defensive tackle Linval Joseph in the second round of the NFL draft.

The 6-foot-4, 328-pound Joseph is a big run stopper who blossomed after losing more than 70 pounds after his freshman season. He had 60 tackles this past season with three sacks and 14 quarterback pressures.

The Giants, who gave up 427 points last season in missing the playoffs for the first time since 2004, drafted South Florida defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul in the first round.

As a Panthers fan, I'm going to be pulling more for both the NY Giants and the Green Bay Packers.

KC: Noted. BY USC standards they had a bad year. Darren: Mr. Johnson did NOT show-up and he thinks he's worth NFL QB's pay, go figure. I'm just saying...

It's a good year for the Pirates. Texas Tech only has one drafted.

Anonymous, have you been smoking crack? Hello, did you forget about a running back for the Tennessee Titans that ran for 2,006 yards in a season (can't think of the all time rank, either 5th or 6th I think)? Chris Johnson did just that. Where did he play college football? Answer is East Carolina. That proves that nobody should deny someone a draft pick cause they went to ECU to play football. For you to say they should not pick someone from ECU means that you need to have that brain checked. Linval, we are proud of you for what you have done. Keep up the good work in the league buddy.

I watched the NFL network and they reported that Mr. Joseph was very impressive during the combine work-outs. He worked hard and got rewarded. I salute Mr. Joseph.
