ECU Pounds NC Central 30-4 In Baseball

East Carolina ran its current win streak to a season high five games as the Pirate rolled past North Carolina Central 30-4 in game one of a three game weekend series.

ECU put the game out of reach in the third inning scoring 11 runs against a team averaging nearly 17 runs given up per game this season.

The Eagles dropped to 0-20 on the season and still in serch of their first victory in 2010.

Zach Wright hit his second grand slam home run in a second-straight game. ECU pitcher Kevin Brandt struck out eight batters in five innings and gave up just one hit.

The Pirates and Eagles meet again at Clarke-LeClair Stadium Saturday at 3pm.
