Pirates Drop In Baseball Polls after 1-3 Week

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Despite a 1-3 week during its recent west coast road trip, the East Carolina baseball team still remains ranked in four of the six national polls that were released Monday afternoon.

The Pirates (8-6) are ranked No. 16 by Rivals.com (down six spots), No. 20 by Baseball America (down six), No. 21 by Ping!Baseball (down four) and No. 25 by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (down eight). ECU received 36 votes for the USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll and dropped out of Collegiate Baseball's Top 30 rankings.

This week's ranking marks the 24th consecutive week, dating back to the start of the 2009 season that the Pirates have been ranked in at least one national poll.

ECU will play 14 of its next 15 games at home starting with a midweek match up against Gardner-Webb on Tuesday, Mar. 16 with a first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m. (EDT).
