Time to support Coach Ruff and Lincoln Riley. We are very fortunate to have the Texas Tech offense here. If you have seen Mike Leach’s interviews, he kept saying to keep it simple. Lincoln Riley said the same. And now Kirkpatrick said the same. He also commented that the old offense was too complicated. The “air raid” offense is based on a lot of repetitions….our guys should be able to handle it. You can listen to all their interviews in the pirate radio archives. Dennis Simmons, outside wide receivers coach was impressed with our receivers… the new guy Lance Lewis. Lance (#4) had 4 TDs in this game and the video showed 2 long pass TDs. Enjoy!

I'm amazed how negative so many people seem to be regarding the Pirates. Yes, Holtz is gone. So what...If Holtz was such a great coach why did he leave the team with no experienced QB,Kickers, and limited experience in all other positions. Seems to me that if he was a good as some like to think, Coach McNeill should have all the players HE NEEDS to be successful... Did Holtz slack off on recruiting? After all, he was at ECU for five years and if he had done a good job of recruiting, ECU should continue to have success under any new coach. GO PIRATES AND Coach McNeill.

I don't believe that the ECU football players are smart enough to understand this type of offense.

I think this is going to be an exciting time for the pirate nation. One thing that is helpful, most of these coaches played or worked together. We might not win all the games. But I do feel this offense that will be run will turn some heads. Good luck to the coaching staff. Go Pirates!!

Coach Ruff has all the right coaches for both offense and defense. It is time for the kids to work hard and play hard. I am looking forward to this exciting season.
