It's Official, ECU To Face Arkansas In Liberty Bowl

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Arkansas will be the Southeastern Conference team playing two-time Conference USA champ East Carolina in the Liberty Bowl on Jan. 2.

Bowl officials on Sunday confirmed that Arkansas was in. The Razorbacks (7-5) lost to Missouri in the Cotton Bowl in January 2008.

East Carolina wrapped up a second straight visit to Memphis by upsetting No. 18 Houston 38-32 in the C-USA championship on Saturday. The Pirates (9-4) are the first C-USA team to win consecutive league titles since the conference split into divisional play in 2005.

Right now in Vegas nobody is giving ECU a prayer! I will bet anybody on here that Arkansas wins by no less than 18 points.

Dave... What kind of hallucinogenic are you on? Do you bother to look at ESPN or If so you WOULD know that ECU has for a long time played a tough and demanding non-conference schedule. Schedules don't lie... look at Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, NC, USC, and the list goes on. They play teams like McNeese State and UT Chatanoga which are typically weaker teams and have no chance to win (cupcakes!) Having said that, maybe you should do a little home work and research ECU's past schedules. You just might learn something. Playing teams like Maimi, Texas Tech, Stanford, SC, Bama, VT, WVU, and so forth hardly make the Pirates cupcakes. At least they have the intestinal fortitude to play difficult teams which, is more than we can say about you! Grow up little school boy and get a life!

ECU is ranked the highest in the state becaue they play in CUSA! The other NC teams are in the MUCH better ACC and play tougher opponents. DUH!

It's so funny that so many people want to make such trashtalk nicknames about ECU, but yet ECU is the highest ranked team in the state, better ranked than all those in state ACC schools, and three of them did'nt even make a bowl. Save the trashtalk for somebody else if you want to be smart.

SEC = No Class...I couldn't agree with you more. Their only saving grace as far as respect, honor, and prestige go is Vanderbilt. The rest are well, straight out of the ole cotton field.

LOLOLOL, ROFLMTO...The only people up here imbarrasing themselves are the 'high and mighty' ECWho fans. Pull for a real team already. We get the fact that you are loyal and all that but if you have a mediocre football team, own up to it. ECU is a great div II and a ok div I team. No more, no less, period, end of discussion.
