ECU Wins The C-USA Championship

Dominique Lindsay and Giavanni Ruffin each ran for two touchdowns while East Carolina's defense hung in against Houston's powerful offense to help the Pirates beat the No. 18 Cougars 38-32 in the Conference USA championship game Saturday.

Dwayne Harris also had a big day with 123 yards receiving and a 22-yard touchdown catch. He also had a 69-yard kickoff return to set up East Carolina's first touchdown, helping the Pirates (9-4) beat the mistake-prone Cougars (10-3) for their second straight league title.

East Carolina is the first team to win consecutive C-USA titles since the league went to divisional play in 2005.

Case Keenum had a big day for Houston, completing 56 of 75 passes for 527 yards and five touchdowns. Most of those went to James Cleveland, who had 19 catches for a title game-record 241 yards and three scores.

ECU 19 Stanford 13. This thread was started about athletics and comments were based on athletics, until this score was posted. Wonder why? LOL. So let me say it again: ECU 19 Stanford 13.

Kevin, WITN blocked off my comment as well and it was not out of context. What's up with that baloney? Anyways, Dave is just showing his ignorance and so is R-Truth. JD Lad, if you want to talk about awful conferences, talk about the Sun Belt or the MAC, and see what you have there dude.

JDLAD: Could you identify "your team" so we will know just who we are being measured against. Sure hope they are even in a bowl.

WITN - yep, read the rules and the posts that I am talking about didn't violate them. I used documented facts to back up my argument. Several posters on here do nothing but flame. I guess you had rather have a childish name calling session than a debate. Oh well, its your website. Censor as you wish.

I think that winning the WAC is a better feat than winning CUSA. Both confrences are awful but the WAC has better teams.

Kevin - Have you seen the "Hey, Read The Rules" section of the site? I tried to review all posts from your ip address but it looks like you're posting from an address that multiple people use. My best guess (looking at posts directed to Dave) is that you are specifically calling him out. If you need specifics, send an e-mail to

It amazes me how WITN will post Dave's negative opinions about everything. I have commented on this subject and used documented facts to back myself up and WITN will not post it. I could understand it if I was being rude but I wasn't.

Dave: Why don't you go to the Pirate's practice field when they start getting ready to beat Arkansas and tell Skip and the players just how sorry you think they are ?? But I guess you won't be in Greenvill when they get back to work, because you will have collected that "useless ECU degree" your parents paid for with out of state tuition and returned home. The only reason you are at ECU must be that your parents are both graduates and this is the only place they would pay for you to go, because they wanted you get a good education and be successful. GAMES OVER !! Honestly, I truly hope the remainder of your life is not as negative and condescending as you have tried to make your time at ECU appear to have been. In the real world, you will find that your supervisors and co-workers will not long play the little games we've played on the blogs. Hope your life is all you want it to be and you are successful and happy in your chosen profession. Life is too short to be miserable. God bless.

Truth be known; odds are that you've never been anywhere near Stanford college. And Rooster, odds are you're just mad at the world in general and ECU rejected you as a student or the campus cops arrested you. Either way, its sad that you have only negative/ugly comments about something that you really don't care about. Why do you try and bring others down with you? I guess because you're a sad person you want everyone else to be sad also.
