Holtz: I'm Not Looking To Leave

Greenville - Skip Holtz says he's not looking for another job. The Pirate football coach talked to the media after Wednesday night's practice and responded to the rumors that he had been mentioned as a candidate in several other jobs.

"It's a compliment to this coaching staff and the work we've done and to the players and how they've played on the field." Holtz said.

"I've got an unbelievable situation here and we have an incredible fan base. We have a great group of players in the locker room. I'm not looking to leave. I'm excited about where I am right now."

When I see all of the trash talk on here, it makes me smile. Do all of you trash talkers really have nothing else better to do? Get back to work! Don't work? Go back to studying for school! You people not only are obnoxious with your back and forth BS, but you're also making a fool out of your self. Save yourself the humiliation and don't take offense to every last comment that people post on here. By getting all worked up over someone's opinion, you're not only stressing yourself, but you're also making the Pirate Nation look like a bunch of morons. Thanks for making the rest of us look bad!

To John, what are you smoking? Our fans would be willing to fork out lots of money just to get in the Big East. Once you get in a bigger conference, that's when better recruits will come to play here and that would improve both the football and basketball programs. I'll bet you on it.

Not that I am qualified for either job.

lets face it. conference usa is weak conference. the big east will never happen because of the under- achieving basketball program. it is just a matter of time before skippy leaves. no coaches ever say that coaching ecu is their dream job. ecu is a stepping stone to bigger and better things. before long ecu will be back to the john thompson days with a different coach. the fan base at ecu is not willing to pay for top tier programs, that encludes all sports. thats why they will remain under the radar of respect.

Hey Dave, if you are only an ECU student by name and show no loyalty, then why don't you go transfer somewhere else, for example, on the OTHERSIDE of the Mason-Dixon line. You are a disgrace to this state and should leave IMMEDIATELY. We have no room for you boy.

Skip needs to look outside of the Conference USA, because it is a dead-end job!

Yeah, ECU finally lowered its requirements because we were losing too many students to the SEC. Dave is a perfect example.

ECU is cheap to get into and all you need is a pulse to be accepted. I will be rooting for my Razorbacks!!

Dave: When you put your diploma in the bottom drawer, I want you to promise all other ECU grads that you will not ever, ever, ever include it in your educational references on a job application. It would be a total embarrassment to ECU to have it known that someone as negative as you was able to slip through the cracks and graduate. As smart as you are, your GED and Associate Degree should get you through life just fine.
