GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) -- East Carolina's three marquee nonconference opponents have one in common: The last time they played the Pirates, they lost.
Skip Holtz has built his program as a scrappy underdog willing to take on all comers. But for a change, it's the big boys from the power conferences that are taking aim at the Pirates.
It starts this week with West Virginia, and Holtz said Monday that "I don't think anybody's overlooking anybody."
East Carolina opened last season by knocking off nationally ranked Virginia Tech and West Virginia in consecutive weeks. After this week's visit to Morgantown, the Pirates travel to North Carolina. ECU beat the Tar Heels in 2007.
