Pirates Hold Monday Evening Football Workout

GREENVILLE, N.C. - For the third consecutive day, East Carolina marched onto the Cliff Moore Practice Facility with temperatures reaching in the upper 90's as Head Coach Skip Holtz guided the Pirates through a two hour-and-15 minute practice Monday evening in shoulder pads.

Beginning Tuesday, the Pirates will don full pads for the first time this season and will continue preparations for the camp's first of two official two-a-day practices scheduled for Wednesday.

Similar to Sunday's workout, ECU turned in a lively 15-minute 11-on-11 enhanced team session at the end of practice which featured rotating offensive and defensive units working on timing and repetition elements of its respective schemes. In addition, the East Carolina coaching staff conducted three hours of team, special teams and position meetings, lifting sessions and walk-through simulation during the morning prior to practice for the second consecutive day.

In addition, freshman LB Kyle Tudor (ankle) also sustained a injury during Monday's workout ... Tuesday's Practice Time: 3:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.; Season Opener: Sept. 5 vs. Appalachian State in Greenville (12 noon).
