GREENVILLE, N.C. - The 15th Annual Meet the Pirates Night, East Carolina's preseason football fan fest, has been set for Saturday, Aug. 22, at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium from 6-8 p.m. This year's event will once again be free for everyone and be family friendly.
Pirate football fans are invited to bring the whole family for a fun and entertaining event and to get to know the 2009 ECU football team along with head coach Skip Holtz and staff. Activities will include inflatable rides and games, photo taking stations, ECU Cheerleaders, ARAMARK concessions, Dowdy Student Stores souvenir booth and an autograph session with the football Pirates. Jeff Diamond, the radio host of ECU's flagship station 107.9 WNCT, will be on hand to provide music and MC the event.
Meet the Pirates Fan Fest will be held at the scoreboard end of Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. The event kicks off at 6 p.m. and is open to the public (no tickets will be sold for this event). Fans are asked to enter through Gate 7 on the north side of the stadium.
The Pirates open the 2009 home schedule Saturday, Sept. 5 against the Appalachian State Mountaineers with a noon kickoff scheduled. Ticket information is available online at www.ECUPirates.com or by calling the ticket office at 1-800-DIAL-ECU.
