UNC PG's Father: Marshall Recovering From Surgery

The father of North Carolina point guard Kendall Marshall says his son is recovering from surgery on his broken right wrist.

Dennis Marshall said on Twitter Monday afternoon: "Coming off anesthesia... all Kendall keeps asking for is his teammates." He also tweeted: "Get ready to hang another banner" in the Tar Heels' arena.

Dennis Marshall didn't immediately return a phone call from The Associated Press and North Carolina said they had no update on Kendall Marshall.

Dennis Marshall told CBS.com late Sunday his son would have surgery to insert a screw in his wrist.

Kendall Marshall was hurt when he was fouled driving to the basket during the second half of Sunday's win against Creighton. His status for Friday's game against Ohio in the round of 16 is unclear.

Maybe but it seems like they have been losing players all year but have still maintained a high level of play. Not many other teams could have done that. Losing Marshall may just be the final straw though. Will be interesting to see if Stilman White can get it done, GO HEELS

I wouldn't count my boys out yet. Bullock and Watts, though not true PG's, are more than capable and have filled in at PG this year. My guess is that they will utilize one of the two and continue to use White as a fill in. They might not be as effective as they are with Marshall but still capable of getting the job done. You will see all of them elevate their game a bit. This will be a great motivator.

We would love to have another banner but the main thing is that he gets better and is able to play again whenever that may be.
