Pairings Announced For The 58th Annual ACC Tournament

GREENSBORO, N.C. — North Carolina is the No. 1 seed in the upcoming 2011 Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament, which gets underway Thursday, March 10, at- the Greensboro (N.C.) Coliseum. The 13th-ranked Tar Heels clinched their 18th outright ACC regular-season title, and 28th overall, with Saturday’s 81-67 win over fourth-ranked Duke.

In addition to top-seeded North Carolina, Duke (No. 2), Florida State (No. 3) and Clemson (No. 4) all earned first-round byes from Thursday’s opening-round session.

The 2011 ACC Tournament is set to tip off at noon ET on Thursday, March 10, and will conclude with a 1 p.m. championship contest on Sunday, March 13.

    I hate to burst your bubble Nole, but bringing FSU and Miami into the ACC started the downward spriral that had led to the ACC being mediocre at best. It was a better conference without FSU, Miama, VA Tech, and Boston College but at least every body is making money and that is the important thing.

    Lets go Noles! Show these guys that the best basketball comes from the sunshine state, just like the best football and baseball. Florida State will always be the most attractive ACC school.

(1950, 1951, 1952, 1954, 1956, 1965, 1970, 1974, 1980, 1982, 1983, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1991, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006) - years we've gone dancing. (1974, 1983) - the years we won it all. We've won it all before, and eventually we'll win it all again.

    Cliff: I bet it eats you up to know that State will never win the ACC regular season or ACC tournament and dream on about the big dance. You and your fellow wolfies should consider moving basketball to the Southern Conference. You might finish 500 there!
