No. 3 North Carolina Beats Miami 73-56

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) -- Tyler Zeller scored 16 points to help No. 3 North Carolina beat Miami 73-56 on Tuesday night.

Dexter Strickland added 14 for the Tar Heels (15-2, 2-0 Atlantic Coast Conference), who closed a nine-game home stand with a perfect record to rebuild some momentum after early losses to UNLV and Kentucky. The Tar Heels led almost the entire night against the Hurricanes and blew the game open with a 17-0 run spanning halftime, which staked UNC to a 23-point lead.

That was the biggest deficit of the year for the Hurricanes (9-6, 0-2), who got no closer than 15 points from there. The lopsided loss followed a one-point loss at Virginia over the weekend in coach Jim Larranaga's first ACC game on the Miami sideline.

Frontcourt star Harrison Barnes struggled to a season-low six points on 2-for-12 shooting, but the Tar Heels' often-overlooked backcourt picked up some of the slack.

That was the most borest game I have ever watched. There was no enthusiasim at all. It was like Carolina was playing half dead. I guarantee you if they continue this, the next game will be much different. Florida State wins at Florida State. They will blow Carolina off the court if we do not get some fire in our -----.

I guess you would prefer the fans jump around like a bunch of rednecked idiots? When you are winning (which is usually the case) the fans do sit back but when it is a tight game there is a lot of excitement. Question, how can a PLACE be boring? My guess is you have never been to the Dean dome in the first place...

Glad they posted the final score, since I couldn't watch it on TV tonight. Email from the program director said it was "freely available" with an antenna. Who still has an antenna? I have cable...but not an upgraded package that allows access to more than 70 channels. So, please WITN, if you get a chance to carry more ACC games in the future, don't! Leave it to Channel 12, or Fox 8, who normally show games on regular channels that most people can easily access and watch.
