Bulldogs Down To 2 QBs For Game Against Wake Forest

STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) -- Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen said backup quarterback Dylan Favre has decided to leave the team with the intention of transferring.

Favre is the nephew of former NFL star quarterback Brett Favre. The 5-foot-10, 195-pound redshirt freshman from Kiln, Miss., didn't get much playing time this season behind senior Chris Relf and sophomore Tyler Russell.

Dylan Favre completed 13 of 25 passes this season for 119 yards and one touchdown. He also rushed for two touchdowns.

The Bulldogs will have just two quarterbacks during the Music City Bowl when they face Wake Forest on Dec. 30 in Nashville. The only other quarterback on the roster is freshman Dak Prescott, a true freshman who is redshirting.

Mullen said there would be no restrictions on Favre's transfer destination.
