Marshall Leads UNC To 69-67 ACC Win Over NC State

Kendall Marshall banked in a shot with 10.2 seconds remaining and No. 4 North Carolina edged North Carolina State 69-67 Saturday in a rugged game to advance to the championship of the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament.

C.J. Leslie, who led the Wolfpack with 22 points, fouled out with more than eight minutes remaining. North Carolina (29-4) lost its top scorer when Tyler Zeller picked up his fifth late in the game after scoring 23 points.

But it was a couple of non-calls that sent N.C. State into a tizzy.

Alex Johnson went flying on Marshall's drive, but no whistle from the officials. The Wolfpack (22-12) got one more crack with 1.2 seconds left and Richard Howell thought he was fouled trying to get off a shot. A frustrated Howell had to be pulled away from going after an official by a couple of teammates after the play.

The refs tried to hand the game to State on a silver platter by not calling that blocking foul and sending Marshall to the line at the end and still couldnt win, wow. State is much improved though. Question, whos your Daddy??

Any Kurlina fan or Dook fan who really thinks that their team has a shot at a national championship needs to have their brain checked. There is no way either one of them will win it, and I at least say the same thing about N.C. State, who still has more improving to do.

Those Tar Holes have the refs on their side the whole time and still just about lost to N.C. State. It's too bad we had to play against UNC and the refs at the same time. Those refs should be fired for their horrible officiating and have no business in the game of basketball.

Coming to this website makes me want to kill myself when I read these comments. Way to go guys, we found a way to start a political debate on a sports article. Shoot, yall find a way to either blame an elected official or just put each other down. These comments are so typical for ENC. All you closed minded people who flock to this website to spread your propaganda and hate makes me sick. Average life expectancy is 78 years in the US, do yall really want to remember your years as the anonymous political commenter on a local news website?

There should have been a foul called both times. I hope UNC gets beat wait a minute they can foul and not get called. FSU do not take the floor just let the foul boys win.

I love the Tarheel haters, HAHA, man how things change in a week. Go to number 4 in the country, beat Duke like the step children they are, and now will be a #1 seed! Oh yea, acc regular season Champs. Dont hate the player, hate the game.

i saw State have time added to the clock at the end of the game, what should have been .06 seconds turned into 1.2 seconds, thats all the time State needed to try and tie, there were bad calls all in this game, and this game could have went either way, Leslie fouled out and Zeller fouled out, there ya go!!!

If the shoe was on the other foot the referees would have given Carolina 4 or 5 seconds! The "no call" with Marshall should have been a charge OR a blocking foul, it should have been a foul either way!!!
