WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) -- Brad Loesing scored 17 points, including two free throws with 2.2 seconds left, and Wofford held on to beat short-handed Wake Forest 56-52 Monday night.
Kevin Giltner added 11 points for the Terriers (8-6). They were just 5 of 15 from the free-throw line, but built a 13-point lead before halftime and led the entire second half to snap a two-game losing streak.
Travis McKie matched a career high with 25 points for Wake Forest (9-5), which was playing without leading scorer C.J. Harris. He was held out as a precaution after he strained his groin in a Dec. 29 victory over Yale.
Tony Chennault pulled the Demon Deacons within 54-50 with a layup with 59.6 seconds left. Wofford missed three free throws in the final 40 seconds to keep Wake Forest alive. Chennault's layup made it 54-52 with 3.6 seconds left before Loesing iced it in the closing seconds.
