Injuries Threatening To Derail NC State's Season

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- It's almost October, and North Carolina State still hasn't beaten a team from the Bowl Subdivision.

The Wolfpack (2-2, 0-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) are in danger of being eliminated from bowl consideration well before Halloween.

They've taken a clear step backwards following their breakthrough 2010 in which they won nine games and claimed a victory in the Champs Sports Bowl.

Coach Tom O'Brien said Monday that "we're not where we thought we would be or could be," and pointed to an ever-growing list of injuries -- particularly on the defensive line -- as the prime culprit.

N.C. State will start its third different group of defensive linemen this week against No. 21 Georgia Tech and is down to two healthy defensive tackles.

Russell Wilson for Heisman! Man doesn't Wisconsin just look like a juggernaut powerhouse?! I wouldn't blame injuries for the losses, you can just look at the accuracy of your Elite 11 quarterback for the source of all your problems. Cincy exposed that kid bigtime.

Well Anonymous, I didn't expect to have so many key players to get injured while players from other schools, especially UNC, ECU, and Wake Forest would stay so healthy this year. If State was healthy enough, yes I would still say they would compete for the ACC title.

What does ECU have to do with it? They are not in the ACC
