Heels Fall Short Against Miami

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) - Jacory Harris passed for 267 yards and three touchdowns to help Miami beat North Carolina 30-24 on Saturday.

The Hurricanes (3-3, 1-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) nearly lost a 24-point lead, surviving a sluggish second half for their first road win under Al Golden.

Bryn Renner passed for 288 yards and two touchdowns for the Tar Heels (5-2, 1-2), who trailed 27-3 late in the second quarter.

Giovani Bernard rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown, becoming the first North Carolina player to rush for at least 100 yards in five consecutive games since Ethan Horton in 1984.

Miami, which gained 263 of its 311 total yards in the first half, avoided the first 0-3 start in league play in program history. The Hurricanes also picked up their first win in five tries at North Carolina.

Actually went to the game yesterday with a friend, I'm not a carolina fan, but what a boring place to watch a game. Empty seats everywhere, and a quite crowd to say the least. Even in second half, when they were making a run, it was like a library. Carolina fans talk how they love the team, but you would never know it going to a game. A lame place for football for sure, guess wine and cheese crowd. They may not want the head coach to win, and since they finally found someone who wanted the AD job, the coach not going to be there long anyway. He wasn't Bubba's hire, so he will be fired at end of season.

Got to agree, I have been to one game this year as well, and their fan base is terrible at the game. Sad that have such a nice stadium and awful fans. It was like being at a funeral it's so quite and they were winning for once.

And Lord help you if you stand up at all during the game, football and basketball. They will shout you down like you cut in line for Communion! Those people just hate to get out of their chair for anything other than to leave when the buzzer sounds.

Of the 5 games the holes have left, they only game they have a chance is with Duke, and that is going to be close, everybody else has owned the holes.

Did Clemson put a beat down on Maryland this past weekend? That's right, the answer is no. They had a shoot out with them. Just because someone post a comment you don't agree with Anonymous, doesn't make them a moron, but comments like yours does make you look like one. Does UNC have a chance against Clemson, yea a chance, but they are going to get beat. Clemson a better team on paper, but if you going to call names, get your facts correct! Put your big pants on and have a good day!
