Family Of Injured Duke Player Thankful For Prayers

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) -- The parents of a Duke football player injured in a boating accident say their son is benefitting from prayers.

Leslie and Rick Holliday issued a statement Tuesday thanking the public for support for Blair Holliday. The sophomore receiver suffered head injuries on July 4 when he and a teammate were riding jet skis on Lake Tillery and collided.

The lake is located roughly an hour east of Charlotte and just south of the Uwharrie National Forest.

Holliday was eventually airlifted to the UNC Trauma Center in Chapel Hill. He was in critical condition after the accident. Team spokesman Art Chase said there were no updates on Holliday's condition Tuesday.

His parents thanked the public for respecting his privacy "as we continue focusing our energy towards Blair and our family."
