UNC To Play In Norman Regional

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- Oklahoma will play in-state rival Oral Roberts in the NCAA tournament opener for both teams.

The 64-team field for the tournament was announced Monday. Oklahoma (44-15) learned Sunday it would host a four-team regional for the second straight year and the Sooners received one of 16 No. 1 seeds. The Sooners finished second in the Big 12 Conference this season.

Oral Roberts (35-25) won the Summit League tournament title for the 13th straight year after sharing the regular-season crown with South Dakota State. The fourth-seeded Golden Eagles have not played Oklahoma this season.

Second-seeded California (29-23) will play No. 3 seed North Carolina (36-20) in the regional's other first-round game. North Carolina made the tournament field despite not qualifying for the ACC tournament.

It would not surprise me if some of those UNC alumni decided to bribe the selection committee members into giving UNC that extra shot that they did not deserve. I'll guarantee at least one of those corrupt politicians who went to that law school up there bribed the selection committee. What a joke. Watch those holes go down in 2 games.

Not qualifying for the ACC tournament, but did for the NCAA? It must be nice to be special.
