Player Of The Week: Kaitlyn Anderson

D.H. Conley senior Kaitlyn Anderson recently signed a national letter of intent to play volleyball at the University of North Carolina. The honor roll student is a lifelong Tar Heel fan so the decision to sign with her favorite school was an easy one.

The Tar Heel influence comes from father, he's a die hard North Carolina fan who is more than proud to his baby gal in baby blue.

Kaitlyn is a setter and defensive specialist but she also can sky above the net as she was second on the team in kills this past season.

Kaitlyn is also a standout softball player for the Vikings and of course proud pop is right there to cheer her on. While softball is a nice outlet for Kaitlyn's competitive juices, volleyball is her love. Right up there with her tar heels

To Bill, quite a few eastern NC student athletes have chosen UNC for sports. West Craven, Havelock, New Bern, Rose, DH Conley, Kinston, and North Pitt high schools, to name a few, have all had students attend UNC on athletic scholarship within the last year or two. Why should any athlete who earns an athletic scholarship to any university be ashamed?? Glad I don't see life through your eyes, life is too short.

Finally.. an Eastern North Carolina product that isn't ashamed of bettering herself by choosing UNC. Congrats, young lady. You will love your time spent in Chapel Hill. This coming from somebody who earned a masters at ECU.
