White To Make K-Tribe Debut

You Down With OBP? – Kinston’s Jordan Henry is getting the lead off job done. Henry is 2-for-4 after two games this season with five walks. His .778 obp is third in the Carolina League, behind Alex Gordon who is on a Major League rehab assignment with the Wilmington Blue Rocks.

Speaking of Alex Gordon – The Major Leaguer is scheduled to play for the Blue Rocks at Historic Grainger Stadium this Monday through Wednesday. The former Nebraska star and first round draft pick is rehabbing from. Before an injury plagued 2009, Gordon hit 31 home runs over two years as an everyday starter for the Kansas City Royals in 2007 and 2008.

Speaking of Alex White - White was named third-team All-American as a sophomore at UNC, and earned All-ACC honors in his sophomore and junior seasons. In his Tar Heels career, White was 27-14 with a 3.96 ERA and finished in the top 10 in school history in wins, innings pitched and strikeouts. During his time at UNC he led the Tar Heels to three straight College World Series Appearances. In high school, White helped D.H. Conley (Greenville, NC) win back-to-back state titles in 2005 and 2006, and was named MVP of the 2006 state tournament.
