Stitt, Booker Push 24th-Ranked Tigers Past UNC

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) -- Trevor Booker scored 21 points, Demontez Stitt added 20 and No. 24 Clemson broke a 10-game losing streak to No. 12 North Carolina with a 83-64 victory Wednesday night.

The Tigers (14-3, 2-1 ACC) hadn't beaten the Tar Heels (12-5, 1-1) in nearly six years, but used a first-half blitz to lead by 23 points and held on against one of their toughest Atlantic Coast Conference opponents.

Stitt hit Clemson's first two baskets during and Booker had a three-point play to close a 17-6 opening run less than five minutes in.

It was the Tar Heels' fifth loss in six games away from the Smith Center.

It was North Carolina's most lopsided ACC loss since falling 96-56 to Maryland on Feb. 22, 2003. Dexter Strickland led the Tar Heels with 17 points.

Larry Drew, Deon Thompson should not be in the starting line up. Deon is soft and Larry is a sloppy point. Lets start Dexter, the Wear twins, Leslie and Ed. They seem to want to play ball. After all that, they will get better as the year progresses.

Roy did learn from Dean; thats why he won the NCAA Championship last year. Carolina can't beat Kinston High if they only score 64 pts!! Roy is still doing a great job with what he has. We played very GOOD teams EARLY so our Youth can gain VALUEABLE Experence. Don't Hate!! Tarheels all Day!!!!

Roy must be going to use his timeouts today in practice. He learned from dean, a team can go on a twenty pt run and will not call a timeout. Carolina is in for a long year. It will be nasty when they play duke.
