WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) -- At least Wake Forest won't have any first-time starters this week at linebacker.
The Demon Deacons' defense struggled as the unit debuted seven new starters during an opening loss to Baylor.
Linebacker Matt Woodlief said Tuesday that "you could tell there were three new linebackers out there."
That position will be the most scrutinized as Wake Forest tries to replace NFL draft picks Aaron Curry and Stanley Arnoux. The new faces spent last week unsuccessfully chasing speedy Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin, who threw for 136 yards and a touchdown while helping the Bears roll up 366 yards in their 24-21 victory.
Now the Demon Deacons hope Stanford's youth at quarterback offsets their own inexperience.
