RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- Nothing could make Russell Wilson forget last year's visit to South Carolina. Not even a concussion.
Besides, there's always the film to remind Wilson how North Carolina State imploded after he was injured.
Wilson on Tuesday called that injury against the Gamecocks last year "a freak accident" and says his maturity and understanding of the Wolfpack's offense should help him avoid injuries this time around.
Perhaps no player in the ACC was more important to his team than Wilson. After the scrambling quarterback was hurt against South Carolina, the Wolfpack went on to lose 34-0. He was healthy when N.C. State won four straight games to reach the Papajohns.com Bowl.
He was hurt in that game, too, and that allowed Rutgers to rally for a 29-23 victory.
