NFL: Greenville Native Andre Brown Suffers Season Ending Injury

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) -- New York Giants rookie running back Andre
Brown has torn the Achilles' tendon in his left leg and will be
lost for the season.

The fourth-round draft pick from North Carolina State was
running a pass route out of the backfield late in Friday evening's
practice at the University at Albany when the tendon ruptured as he
reached for a pass from David Carr.

Brown fell to the ground immediately and grabbed his leg. As he
was treated by trainers he covered his face with his jersey in
obvious pain.

Giants coach Tom Coughlin said that Brown will have surgery next

I hate what the two posters said about Andre Brown. Too bad he is injured. Say what you want about Chris Johnson. I understand your jealousy. The Titans are 0-6 but Chris is still one of the NFL rushing leaders. All NFL, or any football players for that matter, are one injury away from never playing again. Hope Andre gets another shot. BTW State sucks and always will!!!!!

Well, I have no love for NC State, but you hate to see something like this happen to anyone before they even have a chance to play their first professional game. Hopefully, he'll recover and return next season.

Andre Brown is a fine young man as well as an outstanding football player. I am quite saddened by the unfortunate, painful injury that he has suffered. Despite what some people have posted, all ECU fans are not cruel and callous. Some of us actually have class and care about other people. Get well soon, Andre!

BUD YOU ARE ONE SICK PUPPY!!!!!!! I hope you never have an injury that ruins your dreams. You do not represent ECU fans, and neither does your moderator's nightmare-- you two need help. It's called SPORTSMANSHIP. Guess you never learned that.

I can't believe you said those things. I would never want an opposing player to have a devastating injury and be in tremendous pain on the ground, knowing that his dreams may be gone. I would never hope that an ECU player got cut from a pro team either. You have no class and ECU should be ashamed for you to say you are a fan. Why are you so filled with hate? Why don't you try to build up your team instead of tearing down others-- or this what ECU IS ALL ABOUT???
