Wolfpack: Surprise Contenders In The ACC

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- There might be a surprise contender in the Atlantic Coast Conference: North Carolina State.

After breezing through three nonconference games, the Wolfpack (3-0) join Boston College as the only unbeaten teams in the wide-open league.

But now, they'll find out just how serious their candidacy is. They open ACC play this week at defending league champion Georgia Tech (2-1, 1-0).

N.C. State coach Tom O'Brien said Monday that the Wolfpack's best start since 2002 has given the team plenty of confidence. The current run was capped by last week's dominating win over Cincinnati.

But O'Brien says "we're not going to wear our arms out patting ourselves on the back."

Man, if we were in CUSA we too could be good. How many National Titles come out of CUSA? The pressure is on the Wolfpack because we are expected to win this game. Where would I be today if I had gone to a party school?

At least we don't lose to such teams like AKRON. Also, get ready for ECU to beat MooU.

Yo, we'll see how state fares against Tech. You may find out that they too lose to a team that lost to James Madison.
