Wake Ready To Break In New QB In Opener

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) -- Wake Forest is breaking in a new quarterback, and coach Jim Grobe knows exactly what he'd do if he was facing a team in the same situation.

Grobe says he'd "turn the gas up" and blitz the new QB.

The Demon Deacons' first opponent probably doesn't have the bodies to do that often.

Wake Forest opens its season Thursday night against Presbyterian of the Championship Subdivision. The Blue Hose were winless last season, have lost 14 straight and have never played a school from one of the six BCS leagues since joining Division I in 2007.

So, Wake Forest's biggest challenge probably won't come from Presbyterian -- but from adjusting to life without Riley Skinner.

Redshirt sophomore Ted Stachitas will make his first career start.
