CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) -- North Carolina enters the season with plenty of talented returnees. The Tar Heels just don't know whether they'll have them all when they kickoff the year.
North Carolina returns nearly its entire starting offense and defense from last season's eight-win team that returned to a bowl game for the second straight time. But an NCAA investigation is looking on whether defensive tackle Marvin Austin and receiver Greg Little received improper benefits from agents, which has put their status in jeopardy.
The Tar Heels have plenty of other NFL-caliber talent on their defense, including defensive end Robert Quinn and linebackers Quan Sturdivant and Bruce Carter. They just need to see improvement from an offense that was inconsistent last year.
