Marvin Daugherty’s Russian Tea Cakes


1 cup softened butter
1/2 cup powdered sugar
21/4 all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup chopped nuts


Mix butter and sugar in a bowl then stir in vanilla. Then stir in flour and salt. Lastly, stir in chopped nuts.

Form into small balls then place them slightly apart on a cookie sheet. Bake at 400° for about 11 minutes. Roll the balls in additional powdered sugar when slightly cooled. Allow them to cool for an hour or so then serve.

Makes about 20 cakes.
