Peanut Blossom Cookies

This is an easy cookie recipe sure to please all ages. It is kid tested and will let you include their help in the making of these cookies.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tbl. milk
  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda

    Directions

    1.) Cream the shortening and the peanut butter together.

    2.) Add the sugars to the mixture.

    3.) Combine and add the rest of the ingredients to the mixture.

    4.) Mix and blend well. Shape into rounded teaspoon balls.

    5.) Roll in granulated sugar and place on un-greased cookie sheet.

    6.) Bake at 350 for 8 minutes.

    7.) Remove from oven and place a Hershey's Kiss on top of each cookie. Press down so cookie cracks.

    8.) Return to oven and bake 2-5 minutes longer. Remove from oven and let cool.

    9.) Eat and enjoy!
