Egg custard pie. It’s a love it or hate it thing. I love it. It’s also very simple.
- 1 pie shell
- 4 eggs
- 3/4 cups sugar
- 1 Tbs. Vanilla
- 2 1/2 cups milk
- Combine eggs sugar and vanilla.
- Bring milk to a gentle boil stirring constantly (very important).
- Once milk is to a gentle boil add egg mixture and pour immediately into a pie shell.
- Sprinkle nutmeg on top.
- Bake at 475 for 5-6 minutes then reduce heat to 375 and bake for 20 minutes.
- Let cool completely before slicing.
