President Barack Obama says a bill giving the government much greater power to regulate tobacco "truly defines change in Washington."
The president spoke in the Rose Garden just minutes after the House passed the bill overwhelmingly. The Senate approved the legislation on Thursday.
It gives the Food and Drug Administration authority to regulate how cigarettes and other tobacco products are made, marketed and sold. It could curb the roughly 400,000 deaths a year attributed to smoking. The bill cracks down on sales practices that lure young people into smoking.
Obama said the bill overcame a decade of opposition. The president said the "harmful, addictive and often deadly" effects of tobacco have been known for decades.

I think it is a good idea. I am a smoker I would like to know what are in these tobacco products I inhale? The tobacco companies won't tell you let the FDA do it I just want an honest answer.
How do you like the "change" so many of you voted for? More government regulation! When the government controls every aspect of your life it's called SOCIALISM. Socialism can eventually lead to Communism. The government erodes away all your control until the last thing is your right to vote. When there is but 1 party left with all the control the democratic republic is dead and only a revolution can bring back freedom. Freedom as we know it keeps slipping away little by little with few people even noticing it.
"Change in Washington" was when a man that might have made some mistakes, but truly tried his best to keep America safe was replaced by a Socialist moron who has no experience, could care less about America's safety, and makes a fool of himself on just about every subject. That is "CHANGE" we don't need.
