Obama's campaign announced Thursday that he would hold a rally at the Asheville High School stadium Sunday afternoon.

It will be the third time in two weeks Obama will campaign in
North Carolina, whose 15 electoral votes he is seeking to wrest
from the Republican column.

Obama spokesman Paul Cox in North Carolina said Obama will stay in the Asheville area preparing for Tuesday night's debate with GOP nominee John McCain in Nashville, Tenn.

Sunday's event comes the day after the state Democratic Party
holds its annual Vance-Aycock dinner in Asheville.

Obama is not speaking at that event.

I'd much rather drive to Ashville to see Obama than drive to Greenville to see Palin. Just the sound of her voice makes me cringe.

I don't believe there is a heavy black population of mountain folks. You may be disappointed with the turnout.

Hey WITN I guess some people are a little slow :)

Hey WITN Sarah Palin will be in Greenville, slightly closer to your coverage area than Ashville.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Hey Ed, yes we know that...we've had that story on for two days now. See the story below.
