I am a registered Democrat in NC and would like to proclaim a few things for those of you that "just follow party lines", the sheep of the party. This is a historic opportunity to witness the first black and female american to be elected. Hillary was given some special pass from the party since she was Bills lady, but she had no more experience that Palin. I will not vote Obama. He has a closet door ready to spring during the next months. Or, you haven't been paying attention. He is too shady. 24 year old, you cannot afford Obama unless you make 6 figures. You know nothing of history of the party. The liberals took over prior to the Carter years and swung way to the left over the past Clinton years. Clinton was moderate and was electible, Obama is liberal and so it Biden. They do not have your best interrest in mind, only your money. Again, the party doesn't offer us a canidate since Hillary is out of the loop. Period.

To Rob, You know as well as I do if McCain goes to the Whitehouse, Bush will still be there. McCain has been so far up Bushes A** for the past eight years he is beginning to look like Bush. "TRUCKERS GET IT DONE THE TRUCKER WAY FROM COAST TO COAST TAKE BACK THE USA" Never forget truckers keep this country moving because "WE GET IT" You too Unites Steel Workers, help us take this one home for the Democratic Party and the American people. THANKS

I have to say...this election has been interesting to say the least. I'm only 21, but since I've been able to vote, its always been republican. I've been on the fence this entire election...until now. After McCain's choice for VP...I'll now be voting dem in November. OBAMA 08!!!

Posted by: TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK Location: NC on Aug 30, 2008 at 10:51 AM
We are calling on all democrats to work three times as hard to keep the republicans out of the Whitehouse. We can not endure two more unqualified politician running America. If you love America get out there and take her back. "God bless America" "NO MORE OF THE SAME" "SAY NO BUT H**L NO TO McCAIN"

WE are calling on all democrats to work three times as hard now to keep the republicans out of the Whitehouse. We can not let two qualifications

Posted by: Rob Location: NC on Aug 30, 2008 at 10:03 AM
You know, Woman Trucker, you may be right. I think there are a lot of us who are just tired of the last eight years and we are so frustrated with the way the country is. I'm inclined anymore to wait, see what happens, and vote (if I do) for whom is best qualified for the job. It dosen't matter if it's Obama, Nader, McKinney, Barr, or McCain. Change will be nice. Although look at this way- For the first time in 28 years, there will not be a Bush or Clinton in the White House!!! Now THAT is change I can believe in!!!

Posted by: "SOCCER MOM" Location: NC on Aug 30, 2008 at 09:43 AM
They need to run a H**L of an investigation on McBush's new sidekick, She is not all she looks to be and if she gets in the Whitehouse she will be an imposture, Pretending to be VP when she is only a soccer mom and may not be to good at that. However I am not one to tell you not to vote for a soccer MOM LMAO.

Posted by: Dave Location: Greenville on Aug 30, 2008 at 08:55 AM
Thanks Obama 4 Prez! Also, your insight on these blogs makes them more interesting to read.

Posted by: Woman Trucker Location: NC on Aug 30, 2008 at 08:15 AM
Rob please don't tell me McBush may pass on soon because that would not "Surprise" me at all. Maybe that is why he picked a VP with absolutely no qualifications on how to run this country, good to know "WE WILL BE IN GOOD HANDS"

Posted by: Rob Location: NC on Aug 30, 2008 at 01:43 AM
Obama 08 For Prez!'s ego is huge. "..I'm seldom wrong". Wow.

Posted by: Rob Location: NC on Aug 30, 2008 at 01:21 AM
Don't count your chickens before they're hatched. A lot can happen before November. An "October Suprise" maybe? I know that all of folks suffering from the Obama Messiah Complex are just giddy about Oprah's pick getting the nomination (who has probably bought the election by now). All of the neocons and evangelicals are just in awe about McCain and Palin, with Palin being a soccer mom "support our troops" cheerleader and all. I'm sorry, but none of these corporate sponsored puppets impress me. If I vote, in which I probably will not, I would still go for a third party candidate, wheather it be Nader, McKinney, or Barr. This is what our system produces. Garbage in, garbage out. Show me a politician such as the late Paul Wellstone or Rep. Dennis Kucinich who actually, heh, care about people and I may vote.

Posted by: LOOKING Location: NC on Aug 30, 2008 at 12:20 AM
I have come in here for days now and I can see all the republicans run their mouth just like they have for the last eight years. They talk about the democrats wanting everything for nothing BUT they have not said a word about Iraq sitting on their oil rich A*S and taking all they can get from America. republicans keep on sending your tax to Iraq, I am sure they need it more that any one in this country needs it. WE know why you don't say anything, because Bush told Iraq they could have the money without repaying any of it. We are not like McCain and his new side kick. "WE GET IT"

Posted by: Woman Trucker Location: NC on Aug 29, 2008 at 11:56 PM
To Obama 08 for Prez, Hey girl friend look around you, WE truckers know how to get the word out from coast to coast. As we say "NO MORE OF THE SAME" republicans don't get it, when women take a stand WE don't stand alone WE don't just have Obama\Biden standing with US, don't worry.

Posted by: alex Location: vanceboro on Aug 29, 2008 at 11:39 PM
yes the fact that Obama stayed at the church for 20 years until it was political to leave causes me to question his character. i cant vote for him. i have a problem also with people who vote for him simply because of his color. isnt that what we are trying to overcome.

Oh Dave I did forget to say this. In the first paragraph on this page it says...The Democratic National Convention has nominated Barack Obama as the party's presidential candidate, the first black American ever named to lead a major party into the fall elections.....I copied and pasted that, but you are more than welcomed to scroll up. I would think WITN would owe you an apology as well?

Sitting behind the computer with your grandmother's shirt on wearing a orange diaper and cowboy boots. I'm sure you are one of the men that came at me and I castrated with my words because a woman wouldn't be so stupid and simple. Women don't hide, but i can make a coward out of any average man. How did it make you feel when i made a fool of you? LOL, your use of slang, and other words like dude and dang shows me you lack education. I also bet you use curse words and spit outside of grocery stores. You mock me, yet I feel pity for you. To bad your to afraid to go head to head with me, you must post as me. Sad Sad!

Wow, isn't that like most of the liberal democratic party? There is a new sherrif in town. Truck driver, you are in a red state. Now, if you don't like NC you can find other states that you can imigrate to. New Jersey, New York, Mass, get it. We have moral values here and god exists in this state. We are a red state. Palin is awesome.....

I will say this one more time, I take what I see or read on the internet with a grain of salt. In other words I don't do as I see I do what is right. George Carlin is no one I want to hear from on any subject let a loan VOTING. What does my English have to do with YOU?

Let's do not forget that this is the man that would not put his hand over his heart during the National Anthem, would not wear a flag lapel pin, went to a church that had language that I do not even use anywhere, and what kind of name is Barrack Hussan Obama??? Lord help us and this country !!!

Posted by: Rob Location: NC on Aug 29, 2008 at 02:30 PM
To @@@- Calm down and take English 101. This election is about to get "Veeerrrryyyy interesting", quoting Arte Johnson from "Laugh-In". And, by the way, if you want to know how I feel about voting, chcek out the late George Carlin's monologue on voting at You Tube.

Unk- Maybe you would benefit from Obama's education plan. "I don't care what none of you say...."

McCain/Palin just got my vote. I just heard her speak and she is way smarter than the plagerizing Joe Biden. Biden is just like AlGore, you remember the inventor of the internet. I know I'll get some response from this , but I remember like an elephant. I don't care what none of you say about my comment. I supported Hillary in the primary. Come on in ladies, the water is fine.

When Obama gets done running for president- he should consider selling used cars.. his salesmanship on little to no credentials or experience, and the fact that a large part of Americans bought it- says he missed his calling. Heck I would buy a 93 Honda Accord from him- WITH a knock in the motor... lol

Posted by: TRUCKER Location: NC on Aug 29, 2008 at 12:14 PM
I hope you are joking Obama 08 4 Prez, Joe Biden will debate with Palin and eat her alive, I can't wait for that day. She has 4 or 5 years of small government under her belt compared to Biden's 35 years in Washington LMAO

Posted by: @@@ Location: NC on Aug 29, 2008 at 12:02 PM
To Rob, Why do you try to use your dumb scare tactic on US. We are of voting age and We are not your kids. Millions of us will be voting for Obama, so you need to "GET OVER IT" You have not saw anything yet when it comes to our support for Obama so like I said "GET OVER IT" YOU vote for whoever and live with it, I am sure you will be happy with your choice, after all "YOU HAVE BEEN HAPPY AS H**L WITH BUSH FOR 8 YEARS"

in response to the question asked me.. I was shocked at both the comment and the profanity. likewise, that obama would wait until it was politically expedient to distance himself from the man & the church. In addition, the large numbers of people who applauded the remarks as also quite disturbing. i am a person of color & we dont speak like that in God's house

???, this country has not been free for years. I just shake my head when I hear these folks saying that the nomination of the democratic presidential candidate is the "...culmination of the civil rights movement". There are no civil rights in this country. Only privliges. Every year, your government takes a little bit more away. Enjoy them while you can.

Posted by: Legacy Location: NC on Aug 29, 2008 at 08:10 AM
Obama got what he wanted, to be labeled the first "man of color" to be nominated. But when I ask my minority friends, they insist Bill Clinton was the first "black" President! Now go figure that one.....

Thomas Sowell would make 4 of Obama. I would vote for Mr. Sowell if he ran for President. I will not vote for a man whose "changes" change with the polls and whatever crowd he is courting. TO Red whiteand Blue--- What percentage of whites in the democratic party voted for Obama? Now tell me what percentage of blacks voted for Obama? Now who would you consider to be the most RACIST?

Posted by: Devil Dog Location: New Bern on Aug 28, 2008 at 09:39 PM
To Obama 08 4 Prez. I received an e-mail, called "Random Thoughts" by Sowell, from a friend from California. The article intersted me in its objectivity towards Obama and McCain.

Posted by: Obama 08 4 Prez! on Aug 28, 2008 at 09:19 PM
Alex i would like to ask you something if you don't mind.....what bothers your more? The pastor saying God D@mn America, or that the pastor cursed in church? I was surprised that he was white, I'm still in shock over that.

Posted by: Obama 08 4 Prez! on Aug 28, 2008 at 09:15 PM
Devil Dog I went to Thomas Sowell's site. And I read several of his opinions. What I'm wondering if you don't mind me asking, How did you find out about the column? What was it that drove you to his site?

Posted by: Obama 08 4 Prez! on Aug 28, 2008 at 08:52 PM
I keep calling Obama black because that's what I want to call him. I also did note that his mother is white, what I said WAS when i look at him i can't tell he is mixed race. I've never seen so many soft and sissy men. Its just words, calm down and put some big boy underwear on!

Posted by: alex Location: vanceboro on Aug 28, 2008 at 08:26 PM
i cant vote for a man who attends a church where the pastor said God #### America

Checkout some of the opinions of Thomas Sowell, a syndicated black columnist. Google his name, and read some of his columns. He will open some eyes.

Hey Red State, the link seems objective. This is the point of my blogs, both sides do it but some take it as fact. Like air in your tires, it does help and even McCain agreed. But some took it as a vile form of aggression at their canidate. Even if McCain apologizes for it, too late. Damage is done. Yet Obama hits "the big story" of McCain isn't sure of how many houses he has and now is out of touch with the working man? This was "dirt". No, because Cindy's father worked hard and was successful it is her money and her houses. Conclusion, McCain, the old guy, lives in bus, and will give us 4 more years of Bush. Wow, isn't that great. Its all there now. Now there is some dirt for you. Just remember, he sat in a Vietnam prison for our sorry buts, while you played with you kids while he was in casts, from torture and beatings. Wow

Besides all of that, investigation into Obama's connection to domestic terrorist William Ayers has just begun. I believe if there wasn't something to hide, Obama wouldn't be filing lawsuits and fighting so hard to keep it hidden. The fact is, both sides twist words and spin facts to make them look good and the other candidate look bad. That is why it is up to the voters to do their own homework. I often refer to the website FactCheck.Org, among others, to get the details and breakdown of particular issues.

Hello Irritated, last night Dukakis couldn't name one piece of legislation he has helped pass. Nothing. He voted against the surge that is working is the only accoplishment he has. Most democrats are sheep...bah..bah...they follow the party like fleas on a dogs but. They get special blinders that do not allow them to see "truth" just what they hear from other friends and democratic politicians. They never consider the person just the party. Remember, McCain is old and 4 more years of Bush. This is their campaign. They have nothing on the guy who is a hero and dignified statesman. He has plenty accomplishments. All can be looked at but they won't. Bahhhhh...bahhhhhh

Posted by: Red State Location: Washington Co. on Aug 28, 2008 at 01:59 PM
Did someone call me? lol Unlike most people who claim it, Obama is an actual African (father from Kenya, East Africa)-American (mother from Kansas). That is his nationality, his race is mixed. His convention has been a bummer. It's not good for him that the Clinton's have by far overshadowed his wife and his VP. I'm proud of his accomplishment of getting this far on lofty rhetoric, but eventually it will come down to substance and he simply doesn't have any. Biden's speech last night was hyperbole to say the least and bordered on outright lies. No one who pays attention believes that McCain was wrong about the war in Iraq. He was the only one for a long time who was right about it. As for those of you who don't want more of the "last 8 yrs", you need to explain what that means. The first 6 yrs (until Dems took over) of Bush we had job growth, economic growth (still haven't had that recession they keep talking about), and NO attacks on this country. Iraq? We won because of the surge.

America will NEVER be great as long as people let racialism do their voting for them. You people that come on here and talk about Obama like you do are a disgrace to the "RED WHITE and BLUE" It hurts to know I live in the same country as you do. I love my country but I don't love a lot of the people that trash it up by being here.

People - please, please, please do your research on this man before voting for him! I am not opposed to him being president because of his race or political affiliation, but because he has absolutely no plan for how he is going to bring about this great "change" he talks about, and doesn't even say what this "change" will include or how it will benefit anybody. He is all talk with no experience. He is friends with a terrorist, supported a black-supremecist church for 20 years, cannot speak to a group of people without a tele-prompter, will not face McCain in a debate on any issue, and changes his mind on every issue instead of making morally-based decisions and sticking with them. I would love to know what he has done to hypnotize so many people. It's really scary to me.

Why do we keep casting Mr.Obama as the "first Black" candidate...he is the first mixed race candidate if you want to be accurate...

I love how the republicans keep saying McCain is going to win, Obama is going to lose. Who are they trying to convince....they Obama supporters or themselves? LOL As far as Obama's father being an Arab....I don't know about that. Obama looks like a black man. I can't even look at him and tell his mother is white. But that's besides the point, I say let your vote do your talking. However you put it, this election will make history. I'll be able to tell my grandchildren "baby, i remember when the first black president was elected".

Anonymous--you have the cart before the horse. IF I vote for Mccain, I will have every right to complain about the next four years IF Obama wins. How about the democrats nominate a centrist democrat for a change instead of continuously parading leftist leaning losers for the Americans to vote on. It is not the governments job to provide cradle to grave outs for people. I cannot understand why Americans do not want to govern their own lives. Government needs to do this for us, government needs to do that for us. Government does not have the ability to do "this and that" for us without taking from someone under duress and redistributing it. Constitutionally, that is not allowed, but they do it anyway.

There are 3 races of people. Caucasian, Negroid and Mongoloids. Barrack Obama was born in Hawaii;therefore I would say he is Asian American. Although, a persons race is normally that of their mother. He could be considered white by some sociologists. People born in India are considered Caucasian. Vote for a persons ideas not skin color.

To all that don't research and learn, but follow the blind liberal left; Obama is half arab. His father was arab and Barack has a half brother still there living off $1 a week? Seems his half brother is OK with that. Thats Barack, lip service with no actions to support them. Dukakis said last night Barack has lots of changes he wants but could not even name one. He said heathcare at one time, gave no details on how he would solve it. I am glad we live in a Red State.

Hey, Obama 08, I thought it was terrorist attacks and threats of oppression and nuclear weapons being used that has caused international strife. But I may be mistaken.... As long as we let this war go, there will not be peace, and if we don't work to eliminate it now before it gets worse, there will never be peace. This is a war that has been fought since biblical times, this is not just something that happened out of nowhere. And obama/biden 08, don't think that your finanaces are going to be any better after Obama raises your taxes and lets gas prices rise to $12 a gallon like he said he would. Plus, you'll also have to by a tire pressure gauge to make sure your tires are inflated, because that is the only way to make your gas prices better, according to Mr. Obama.

Anonymous & Anonymous2, The content of your posts reads very similar. Are you having an identity crisis?

Some of you need to open your minds up just a little. What you hear in the media is not always the truth. Well take it easy in Jonestown and one more thing, don't drink the kool-aid.

To the obama supporters that posted, read your own posts and you will see just how simple, ignorant, and immature you sound. As I said before, we are not all mccain supporters. Alot of us are just antiobama. We don't want a socialist, racist, inexperienced, questionable American who's associated with known felons and terrorists to be the leader of our nation. Not to mention his unproud and racist wife. Its not lies when someone actually has socialist type plans, say they HAVE NOT BEEN proud of our country, actually conducted business with a jailed felon, went to a church for 20 YEARS that preaches hate and antiAmerican subjects, and the list goes on. And when biden made statements about obama not having enough experience, were you jumping for joy then as you are now? You people need to get on one side of the fence and STAY there. You're as wishy washy as your candidate.

To Anonymous, I agree 100% with you about Mat is making him self look not very smart. How do you find out if some is a red state, because they say they are in NC.... right, like I want people to know where I live. Some people realy believe we are from where we say we are from LMAO.

Posted by: Anonymous 2 on Aug 28, 2008 at 08:47 AM
To Anonymous, I agree with you about Obama not being Arab. He is about as much Arab as I am on the moon at this minute. I can see every one not voteing the same, to set out to destroy someone to get other people to think the way you do is not smart at all. Matt do you realy think a smart person would respect you or your opinion, I think not.

Even God doesn't want Obama/Biden in the White House.

Its a miracle! One minute Obama is not smart enough and not experienced enough and now Biden says "he is". Me, get over it, you are in a red state that will vote for McCain. The economy didn't fall until the democrats took over both houses. Get it? Not Bush. Do not believe all this party crap as most is lies. Why you would vote yourself higher prices on gas and a pay cut is like self punishment. I guess I am the only guy posting that actually watches both sides of the news. Try it sometimes.

Rob, I hope God will help us. Go Obama/Biden. :)

Posted by: Anonymous on Aug 28, 2008 at 06:27 AM
Matt - you are making yourself look not very smart. That's untrue and getting very old. It's a fact that he's the best man for the job now. As a mother of two children in college, I fear if things continue the way they have for the last eight years, that their future is dem. Something has to be done, and if McCain wins we lose. It's that simple. Wake up America. It you vote for McCain, you will have no right to complain about anything in the next for years. So if that's what you want, go for it. I don't.

Those of you that believe the lies spreading on the internet about anything to scare you from voting for the obvious ticket are ignorant and chicken. Look what a mess the we have had in the white house for 8 years. our country has bee put through the ringer...I for one have had enough. I have hope that there will be a change to get our country back on track. our other choice is more of the same. what do you want? war? or peace? I am one mother that is working 2 jobs, late on bills, fee my kida pbj, milk and cereal to get by. it is very hard.

anyone that votes for someone other than Obama, even Hillary supporters, need to look at the past, and future. We so not need more of economic or international woes as we do now. I sure hope God will continue to help us all, because it is going to take the whole nation to clean up the mess that the Bush Cheney legacy has left behind to shatter our Ccuntry, and cause such international strife. Anyone that doesn;t vote for Obama/Biden are not in the right mind. Open your eyes if you really care about the ruture of America. I certainly do for the sake of my college age and high school childten.

He looks black to me. Arabs seem paler; and I don't recall his mother or father being Arab.

Posted by: Matt Location: NC on Aug 27, 2008 at 08:41 PM
Please. Get it right. He will be the FIRST ARAB-AMERICAN nominated for president. Is he not proud of what he really is? Come on Barack be truthful about something. Gee.
