The U.S. Senate campaign trail apparently travels through parades.

Republican Sen. Elizabeth Dole and her challenger, Democratic state Sen. Kay Hagan, will attend Fourth of July parades Friday, courting voters and displaying patriotism.

Dole will ride in a morning parade in the town of Faith, outside Dole's hometown of Salisbury.

She will also speak at events in Charlotte and Raleigh.

Hagan will participate in the Hickory Grove parade in Charlotte before going to events in Shelby and Valdese.
