UNC’s Alex White, who went to high school at D.H. Conley in Greenville, was selected with the 15th pick of the first round by the Cleveland Indians. White was the staff ace for the Heels who are getting set to play in the College World Series for the 4th straight year.

UNC’s Hot hitting Dustin Ackley was the second overall pick, taken by the Seattle Mariners. As expected San Diego State’s Steven Strasburg, a pitcher with a 103 mpg fastball was picked first by the Washington Nationals. Several analysts expect Strasburg to be in the majors this year.

As far as Alex is concerned, yes he is a traiter, but I have met the kid one time back in his days at D.H. Conley through some friends in common and he seemed to be a good acting nice kid, not typical of UNC nation, but he was so I pretty much got to wish him the best and that is only after he goes pro.
