Eighteen-year-old Jeremy Tucker is due in Hertford County court Tuesday on charges of possession of drugs with intent to sell. The Roanoke Chowan News Herald says lawmen arrested Tucker during a lockdown at Hertford County High School in Ahoskie Friday. The paper says deputies seized marijuana and nearly $300 in cash from Tucker's car.

Lock him up and throw away the key. He is destroying lives by selling drugs. He knew better but desided to do it anyway. He looked at it this way. He is a minor so he will only get a slap on the wrist. If he caused someone death by supplying them drugs then he should held accountable for the death.

I agree with Caroline. Marijuana is tied in with all heavy drugs because most dealers have that available. It isn't legalized because it makes big brother more money keeping it illegal. A 35 dollar misdemeanor costs well over $500 after court costs, lawyers, and community service. It isnt legal because of the big "legal" drug dealers and no definitive test to prove someone IS under the influence. You think everyone would grow it? I dont, people can legally grow tobacco to smoke. How many smokers grow their own? I bet more people smoke than you realize. No long term effects have ever been proven. The "kills brain cells" idea was done on lab rats that they suffocated with smoke. Brain cells die first when anything dies. Both Kennedy and Nixon said it shouldnt be a criminal offense. Prohibition lives on!! I rather see people drive after smoking pot than drinking alcohol. I do not smoke it and drink very little, but, freedom is the right to do anything you want without harming others freedm

Hey Russ I didnt see anybody saying it was okay. Where was that posted? If you are going to post in reply to something I put up here I would appreciate it if you would address an actual post and not make some crackpot comment that has absolutely no relevance! Im just saying the way the system deals with the problem is not and has not ever been effective! Im not saying give this kid a pass. He knew the risks and played the game so he is responsible for paying the price. Christianity in the schools? What about places where the people are not Christian and they do not have these problems? Looking to Christ is fine for you and yours at home if that is your choice of belief systems, but forcing it on people who may or may not believe in it is not the solution in my opinion Caroline. Once again more education and some better parenting is the key here!
