Coast Guard Rescue Swimmer Gets Canadian Bravery Medal
Petty Officer 2nd Class Drew Dazzo rescued a man from Ottawa and two other crew members after their sailboat capsized during a storm off the North Carolina coast in May 2007.

A member of the Coast Guard, stationed at Elizabeth City, has received Canada's second highest bravery medal.
Petty Officer 2nd Class Drew Dazzo rescued a man from Ottawa and two other crew members after their sailboat capsized during a storm off the North Carolina coast in May 2007.
Dazzo, a rescue swimmer, was injured in the first rescue attempt, but continued his efforts until all three men were safely aboard the MH-60 helicopter.
Dazzo became the third America to receive the Star of Courage from the Governor General of Canada.
