National Gas Prices Up 18 Cents In Past 2 Weeks

The average price of a gallon of gasoline has jumped 18 cents over the past two weeks.

That's according to the Lundberg Survey of fuel prices, which puts the price of a gallon of regular at $3.69 nationwide.

Analyst Trilby Lundberg says rising crude oil prices is the main factor driving the increase. The near-month contract for the benchmark grade crude closed at just under $110 a barrel last week, and Lundberg says if oil prices stay that high, pump prices could go even higher.

Midgrade costs an average of $3.83 a gallon, and premium is at $3.95.

Of the cities surveyed, Denver has the nation's lowest average price for gas at $3.07. San Diego has the highest at $4.24.

Thanks to everyone that voted for Obama this is what we have to deal with gas at $4 a gallon i bet you want vote for him next time. The average price of gas was $2 when Obama was elected and now its close to $4. He hasnt helped us he has hurt us. And on top of that he keeps spending money we dont have and putting us more in debt, So think before you vote at the next election.

I bet that the ones raising the gas prices dont really pay for there gas!! Its crazy the barrell prices dont change as much as the consumers pay per gallon. When the barrell prices change oil companies jack up thet price even if we are still on a lower barrell price- Think about that!

While addressing the issue of climbing gas prices Thursday, President Barack Obama shared that “some politicians, they see this as a political opportunity… I know you’re shocked by that.” He mentioned that one newspaper headline reported that “Republicans are licking their chops” over rising gas prices. “Only in politics,” he added, “do people root for bad news.”

Reminds me of when the Democrats where campaigning on high gas prices in 2006, except it was okay for them to root for bad news!!!

What exactly is President Obama doing to help lower the price of gasoline at the the pump. When he was elected gasoline was selling for $1.80 per gallon now three years afterward under his energy policies the price of gasoline is $3.77 per gallon.

What energy policies resulted in high gas prices? Please don't say Drill Baby Drill or the XL delay.

Oil is a futures commodity, and as such, is subject to influence by speculators. If you want to help keep the price of oil stable, demand that these speculators actually keep inventory (haul and store the oil) of their "purchases." If they had to actually do that, they wouldn't be jerking the price all over the place. Right now, it's all on paper.

Oil companies and the speculators are the ones to blame. THE FCTC needs to reign in the speculation. The President has order that they do so. So this blame game the republicans are playing trying to blame the President for driving up gas prices is nonsense.

I bet you didn't say the same thing when gas prices went up under Bush. Democrats are such hypocrites!!!!

Rumor has it that gas prices may be going down as low as 50 cent a gallon in the next few weeks. If gas prices go back down I wonder if the ones that blamed President Obama wrongly for high fuel prices will give him credit once they decrease. I am certain though that lower gas prices is NOT what the GOP really want to hear at the moment.

Most Republicans do not blame the oil companies or speculators, they blame Obama and promise that if you elect them they will bring the WORLDWIDE price of gas down, just like they promised jobs, jobs, jobs if you let them back in the house. The high price issue will never be resolved by the US or any other country by themselves, it is a problem that is across the planet. There is also that pesky fact that we will eventually not be able to sustain the production needed to fuel the world and the countries that invest in alternative energy right now will lead the world economically into the future. More drilling is not the answer and government is not the answer it is only people that can make a difference.

Well, you certainly were screaming bloody murder when prices went up under bush. Now the shoe is on the other foot, suck it up, he owns it as its been over 3 bucks since he took office. That, he told you he would personally do in his speech. Enjoy the Obamagas!!

If our cities made things safer to walk and bike everywhere, we could all save a ton of money instead of sending most of it to the middle east.
