Obama: Gov't Working To Ease Pain of Joblessness

President Barack Obama says new figures showing national unemployment has hit the double-digit mark are regretful and says he's working hard to restore the struggling economy.

Standing in the White House Rose Garden, Obama called the new jobs report another illustration of why much more work is needed to spur business creation and consumer spending. He appeared a few hours after the government reported that the jobless rate hit 10.2 percent last month, the highest since 1983. The rate was 9.8 percent in September.

Obama noted legislation he's signing to provide additional unemployment benefits to people thrown out of work. And he said " "I will not rest until all Americans who want work can find work."

I forgot some thing. obama says, "I will not rest until all Americans who want work can find work," I guess those who don't want work will continue to receive their checks, health care, child support, etc.

This is a country of services, we no longer have industry, we manufacture very little as compared to 20-30 years ago. We need factory jobs for our kids, you have to admit they are not the sharpest knife in the drawer as compared to other countries. The bottom line is we need factories. obama and his congress (Dem or Rep) have no idea what to do to end this recession, none what so ever. Should obama and his Dem. congress not be working as hard in helping to produce jobs as they are on a doubtful health care system. But what do they care, they get a pay check.

I get so sick of hearing stupid comments where you think the government is exempt. The gvmnt is the most inefficient machine, like a 4-cyl engine that only has one cylinder running. The govmnt officials play their chess game to make money, thats their only concern. If you can't see that, you're nieve.

Who do you people think the "government" is? It's not a big box sitting in Washington DC. It's people just like you and me who were elected by us, in both parties, so if you think the "government" is responsible for all our problems, then blame yourself too. I get so sick of hearing this comment.
