Walmart To Carry Over 100 $10 Toys For Holiday Season

Walmart makes an offer many christmas shoppers may not refuse, the retail discount chain says it will offer more than 100 toys for the holiday season for $10 or less.

Walmart's looking to attract customers during the time that toy retailers make up to 40 percent of their annual sales. Last year, Walmart only had ten toys that retailed for ten bucks.

Here's a list of just some of the toys that will only be $10:

New Transformers 2 Deluxe Action Figures
Barbie Cut and Style Rapunzel
Games such as Connect 4, Battleship Monopoly, Trouble and Jenga
Vtech Explore and Learn Helicopter
Tonka Light and Sound assortment (firetruck, dump truck, etc.)
Clean-Up Pup Barbie Play Set and Mermaid Splash & Style Barbie
New Play-Doh Burger Builder Set
New Garanimals line Bath Boat and ABC 50 wood blocks kit
Hot Wheels Trick Track
LEGO Bionicle Legends set
New Nerf-N-Force Sword
My Little Pony So Soft Newborn
Little Dreams Interactive Baby Doll

Many economists think this holiday shopping season will be flat at best.

You can buy toys for under $10 at Dollar Tree. You can get 10 toys for $10 there. Also Walmart is not discounting anything. They are using their dominance to bully the toy suppliers and maximizing their profits. Shop around and you will find that the retailer is more of a convenient one stop shop than anything else. I rarely shop there because I can save a lot of money shopping elsewhere. Target and Kmart are much better. The local shops (the very few that are left) are even better.

First, Walmart is not the only place that sells stuff made outside the US. Everybody does. Walmart just doesn't mark it up as high, so it's more obvious. Second, Walmart has always had more than 10 toys for $10. That is absurd. Probably a lot more than 100. Going back to the first point, while a lot of stuff is made overseas, the best game console (Xbox 360) is American, and at $200 it's cheaper than all but handhelds. The big shooter games (Halo, Gears) are made here. The big roleplaying games (Elder Scrolls, Fable) are made here. Both of the big music games (Rock Band, Guitar Hero) are made here. So not all of the best toys are made overseas. But the cheap ones, unfortunately that is the case, but as I said, it's not just Walmart.

Yeah, all the junk is made not in America. If we keep buying foreign goods, we are selling ourselves out and weakening our country as a whole. Its sad really... so go head and buy the 10 buck toys, just hope your kids have an America to enjoy when they grow up.

Get over yourself Fred. Nothing is made in this country anymore except crack and crystal meth.

Please bring back the Lay-A-Way at least for Christmas this year, Thanks for what you are doing with the $10 toys.

If you're interested in WalMart starting lay-away again go tell them. Stir up some interest, start an email petition for those interested to attach their names to and forward it to WalMart. WalMart is pretty good about listening when people speak up. Go here: http://www.walmart.com/cservice/cu_comments_online.gsp?cu_heading=8 and select comments and suggestions and tell WalMart what you want. A good idea sometimes just needs to be discovered!

That's fine Fred. Go somewhere else, buy the same stuff that was made in another country but pay alittle more for it. Thanks Walmart. This will make Christmas easier.

they need to bring back the layaway program that so many of us depended on to get Christmas for our kids. they can consider only doing it for the holidays and not year round maybe but many families need it especially with the economy right now.

I wish Wal-Mart would start doing lay-aways again. That is why I do not shop much there for Christmas gifts.
