The bad economy is really hitting home at a local Veterans organization in Jacksonville.
But now that the Captain John C. Carr Veterans Center has helped over a thousand Veterans in just under two years -- it's in need help of its own. After starting out the year with 65-thousand in donations, it's down to 38 bucks. Relying on donations and grants, the money hasn't been pouring in lately due to the lagging economy. The resource center needs additional funds to provide medical equipment food, and resources to our war heroes in need.
The resource center says if it can't make rent next month it may have to move into another building, or work from another location. It won't close down the operation or stop helping Veterans. If you can help donate, you can stop by their office, at Page 21 on Marine Boulevard in Jacksonville.
