A business park is being developed that caters to companies expected to come to North Carolina because of military base closures and relocations.
Construction is expected to start in January although a groundbreaking is being held Thursday. The 215-acre project is being developed on privately owned land near Fort Bragg.
A federal grant is being used to run water and sewer lines to the property, which will be marketed by the Fayetteville-Cumberland County Chamber of Commerce. Chamber spokeswoman Kristie Lozano said the park will provide secure space for contractors who are working on sensitive military projects, including those for military special operations units.
