A communications company based in St. Paul, Minn., plans to close its Greensboro manufacturing facility as part of an effort to deal with a weakened U.S. economy.
Deluxe Corp. said Wednesday its manufacturing facility would close in the second half of 2009 and its 117 employees would be affected.
The company said it will provide eligible employees with severance benefits, outplacement assistance and the opportunity to apply for other open positions within the company.
Deluxe also plans to close manufacturing facilities in North Wales, Pa., and Thorofare, N.J. Combined with other cost-cutting actions, the company will reduce its total work force by 570 people.
Deluxe Corp. helps businesses with management and promotion services. It provides customized products like business cards, stationery and retail packaging supplies.
