UPDATE: No Dogs Euthanized After Shelter Closes

We have an update to a story we first told you about this weekend.

An animal shelter in Duplin County is having to temporarily close today, and any remaining dogs will have to be euthanized.

This morning 30 dogs were in need of new homes, but now thanks to many generous people all of the dogs have been adopted.

The shelter says this morning people came from Raleigh, Hubert and Jacksonville to get the dogs.

The shelter closed at 11:00 a.m. to under needed repairs.

Previous Story

The puppies in this picture and other dogs need to be adopted by Monday or they will be euthanized.

The animal shelter in Kenansville, Duplin County will be shutting its doors temporarily to make repairs to the facility.

There are around ten dogs that need to be adopted by Monday morning between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00am . If these dogs are not adopted, they will be euthanized.

If you are able to adopt one of these dogs you can go to the Duplin County Animal Shelter in Kenansville.

The shelter phone number is 910-296-2159. You can also click the link below to the shelter.

Though an animal lover.Tis a shame Human Beings are not cared for as much.In Pitt county alone there are people unemployed, losing their homes dying because they can't afford medicine or medical care. Some haven't any airconditioning nor fans.Where is the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ?Though many buildings full of dressed up people on Sunday Morning why is there so much Human Suffering? As we adorn the latest trend saying we are Christains like the bracelets WWJD(What would Jesus do?)I shall leave you to ponder. Are we worshiping the Creation instead of the Creator?

Rather than judge, help them. Are you sayin you are doing nothing to help? Are you waiting for others to help them and stand and watch? That post leaves so many questions on a story about animals that were headed to dog heaven. And yes, Catholics believe in it. A compassion god that would save what we are mere caretakers of, took them two by two to save them...On the human side, we help those that help themselves. It is you job to get the word out. We all know what Jesus would do, he made it clear many times, a bracelet? Means nothing, its feel good for the confused. I am a mere cartaker of one of his creatures, she is not mine, nor yours...I will like most of the people here, sympathize when they get hurt, are being euthinized and god blesses those that saved what is his. If you have a cause, step up, say what you must and make it known to all. I understand the anguish, but not the motive.

I for one care & So do most of the people who posted here. You must not have any heart whatsoever. Guess you might be one of the good old buys who would run over a dog in the road or shoot one between the eyes. As a dog lover, people like you make me sick. There is a God & He might just dump a bad thing on you. These dogs did not be asked to be born. They are here because no good bums will not get the dogs spayed Or Fixed. Get a life.Hope you never have no place to call home..

This makes me believe that there are good people in this world for a change. I would of loved to had been a foster parent, wish that all facilities, except for Humane Society of NC in pitt, were no kill. Its not their fault for being. I would love to be able to build a couple of dog pens and be able to feed like they should be. I love mine to death, she is just like a child to me.

Good show people. It shows the how great the people of NC really are. As I stated before I have 6 little dogs '1' of them was abandon found laying on the ground dying of thirst & starvation and could hardly walk a little puppy Chihuahua. On the side of a rual road I was driving. To this day I do not understand how someone could do this? I pick him up and took him home fed and gave him water, and took him right to our Vetenarian. Today he is healthy and has a great home and familly. Thank you WITN for the up date and thank you all you people with such a kind heart. God Bless You All

And for all the people that showed up to help these pups and they were already taken, what shelter did you go to, to help some other animal that was going to die today?
